Album Summary
Performer
Michel Chapuis (Organ)
Notes & Reviews:
In the series of recordings so far issued on Plenum Vox, the master French organist has shown his skill in the French and German masterworks of the organ literature. Here he demonstrates his remarkable talents as an improviser on the Magnificat theme as employed in the German Lutheran churches. In 14 movements, the first Suite is in the French classical style. The second Suite is an improvisation played in completely free form. The organ of the Shirane-Cho Concert Hall was built in 1993 by the French builder Bernard Aubertin and constructed in the North-German Baroque style with three manuals and 65 ranks.
