"Mia vita, mio bene"- the title penned by the composer Giovanni Alveri is a perfect description of the arias and cantatas on this compilation. Just as contradictory passions may be mirror images of one another, so the voices of the two young singers which blend so beautifully together are different in character. Danish-born Ditte Andersen, with her crystal-clear lyric soprano, and the round, warm mezzo of her Swedish colleague Ann Hallenberg harmonize to bring out the power of love in all its facets.
