Notes & Reviews:

Niccolo Castiglioni (1932-1996) was an Italian composer and pianist who refused to be swept away by the currents all around him, yet whose music today seems unquestionably "modern." He named his greatest influences as Anton Webern and Franz Schubert! Castiglioni's music underwent a continuous process of evolution. It is noted for clarity and brightness, elaborate filigree, and the importance of timbre as a structural element.
