Down Beat (p.66) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The originals 'Juvenile' and 'Go Round' are playful and contemplative by turns, while the title track has the kind of romping tempo and two-handed runs that initially marked Terrasson as a major talent."
JazzTimes (p.115) - "'You've Got a Friend' may be that song's deepest, truest instrumental interpretation. 'Everything Happens To Me' is hypnotic."

Berlin-born French-American pianist Jacky Terrasson has been one of the leading lights of the mainstream jazz scene since his emergence in the 1990s. He has accompanied and arranged for jazz vocal icons Betty Carter and Jimmy Scott, and led his own trio, but MIRROR features Terrasson in a without-a-net solo context. This set mixes brilliantly re-invented standards ("Everything Happens To Me," Ellington's "Caravan," Carole King's "You've Got A Friend") with edgy yet engaging originals (the whirlwind technique of the title tune, the quirky "Tragic Mulatto Blues"). Fans of great piano playing will enjoy this album.
