Album Summary
Performer
Oliver Triendl (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
Here we have music of unprecedented mastery, resting on a classical and traditional foundation but also full of romantic expression and high suspense, with each work displaying its own uniquely and unmistakable stamp. With this release we begin our exploration of Weingartner's chamber music. Before pressing forward to his string quartets (project in progress), we present two wonderful ensemble pieces: the Sextet for Piano and Strings of 1904 and the Octet for Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, Strings, and Piano of 1924.
