Born in Italy, Ettore Causa began his studies at the Naples Conservatory and then attended the Menuhin Music Academy. In 1996 he came to New York to study at the Manhattan School of Music. Awarded the distinction for "the most beautiful sound" at the Lionel Tertis International Competition, he has since made solo and recital appearances with leading musicians in many of the major venues around the world. He performs on a viola made for him by Frederic Chaudiere in 2003.
