Notes & Reviews:

Born in Manchester in 1964, Ronan O'Hora studied with Professor Ryszard Bakst at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won several awards, including the Dayas Gold Medal and the Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. In 1985, he won the Stefania Nickrasz Prize, awarded every five years to an outstanding exponent of Chopin. While still at college he received invitations to appear with many leading orchestras, including the Hallé, Bournemouth Symphony, Ulster, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras and has since returned regularly to all of these orchestras.

Now firmly established as one of Britain's leading pianists, he has performed extensively in every major country in Europe and in the US & Canada, performing with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra. His performances have been broadcast many times on television and radio, including a televised recital at the Chopin Society in Warsaw, a performance of Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto with the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra for the Dutch TV series "Young Artists on the Concert Platform," two televised concerts of Mozart chamber music for BBC TV, and countless performances with BBC Radio 3.
