Notes & Reviews:

The harpsichord at Trinity Hall, Cambridge was built by Andrew Garlick in 2009 and is modeled on one made by Goujon in 1748 and offers scope for the full harpsichord repertoire with its double manual, five-octave range and attractive "buff" stop. The present recording is the first to be made on the instrument.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
This recording celebrates the inauguration of a new harpsichord for Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. Built in 2009 by Andrew Garlick, it is a French double manual harpsichord after Goujon, 1748. It bears Trinity Hall's Grant of Arms on its soundboard. Harpsichordist Andrew Arthur, who acted as a consultant for the commission of the harpsichord, has created a varied program that shows its sound at its best. His program also underscores important historical and artistic connections between pieces and composers. Arthur closes with Handel's Suite No. 7 in G minor. He concludes the famous Passacaille at the end of the suite with a dizzying swirl of arpeggiation. Couperin's 'Les Barricades Misterieuses' makes an appearance before the suite. This piece, with its resonant brokenchord texture, is the most lovely and idiomatic harpsichord music. Arthur plays with poise and vigor. He has created a comprehensive document of this beautiful new instrument that Trinity Hall will surely be proud of.
