Notes & Reviews:

With this new release, Ondine continues the series of recordings of Magnus Lindberg's music. Lindberg has written many pieces for clarinetist Kari Kriikku and cellist Anssi Karttunen, two important figures in contemporary music scene in Finland. The Clarinet Trio, including fine reminiscences of Brahms and Ravel, now brings together these two musicians with the composer himself on piano. Lindberg currently serves as composer-in-residence for the New York Philharmonic.

The Guardian, September 2012
The music seems to combine Lindberg's newly acquired expressive generosity with the harmonic logic and lucidity that's always been characteristic of his work.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
Finally, Don Coyotes is an arrangement of Lindberg's Coyote Blues for cello and piano from its original form for chamber orchestra. This is also basically lovely, though by this time his style has become rather predictable. I am sorry to damn him with faint praise, but the grandeur of his climaxes is not really supported by the rather characterless melodic moves. You may feel differently and these are fine performances.

MusicWeb International
All in all, this is a magnificent release that is a must for all Lindberg fans but should also appeal to anyone who enjoys accessible and warmly expressive contemporary music.

Gramophone
... the Trio is a grand statement in a traditional classical genre. Its three movements encompass four, the central slow span, 'Like the tranquillity we seek', morphing into a scherzo. The movement titles... are indications of mood and expressive profile...

Gramophone Magazine, December 2012
The performance quality, with the composer and two of his longest-standing collaborators, is unimpeachable and Ondine's radiant sound completes a superb issue.
