Notes & Reviews:
In 2008, the ensemble performed Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the end of time at the Salzburg Festival. Composed in 1940 in a German prisoner-of-war camp, Messiaen reached the pinnacle of his composing career at the age of 31. In this work he conveys his spiritual interpretation of musical time and plays of color.
BBC Music Magazine, Christmas 2012
An engrossing, audibly live performance. The slow movements are sustained especially well, but the more complex passages are not always secure.
