Notes & Reviews:

Christopher Gunning has made a reputation for his compositions in film, TV, and the concert hall. After he worked with Craig Ogden on many TV series, Craig invited him to compose a Concerto for Guitar. The work concentrates on expressive melodic lines and sonorous chords, and is rhythmically alive. The Clarinet Concerto, composed in 2005, was taken up by the Principal Clarinetist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The Concerto is in three movements - fast, slow, and fast - weaving in and out of energetic, elegiac moods. The Flute Concerto was written for Catherine Handley, widow of the celebrated conductor Tod Handley.
