Notes & Reviews:
The world of Mozart piano music is revealed first and foremost in his concertos, most of which were composed with the intention of Mozart performing them himself. Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder is one of the most famous interpreters of Mozart's music. In this pair of concertos, where the melancholy coloring of the composer's mature style can already be heard, Buchbinder brings a wealth of expressive nuances to light with accompaniment by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner. Released as part of EMI Classic's Red Line series, these interpretations of Mozart's piano concertos are sure to please.
