Album Summary

>Beethoven, Ludwig van : Symphony no 9 in D minor, Op. 125 "Choral"
Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

The second Beethoven recording of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) and Myung-Whun Chung after Beethoven Concerto & Symphony No.5 released in 2013.

Soloist for the 4th movement are soprano Kathleen Kim, who made her debut in MET in 2007 and mostly performing across the US and Europe including 2012 BBC Proms; mezzo-soprano Songmi Yang, who received excellent reviews on her Wiener Staatsoper debut in Lucia di Lammermoor; tenor Yosep Kang, currently a soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin since 2002; and last but not least, bass-baritone Samuel Youn, the first-ever Korean/Asian to successfully star as title role on Der fliegende Holländer in Bayreuther Wagner Festspiele in 2012 and more to come throughout 2014 season.

Sung together with rich and abundant chorus.
