American Record Guide, May/June 2013
Since 2001 Winfried B÷nig has been Organist for Cologne Cathedral, which houses two instruments, one in the nave, one in the transept. In this recital B÷nig plays transcriptions of pieces initially intended for orchestra, chamber group, or piano. The recital is a good one in that B÷nig plays well, registers imaginatively, and presents transcriptions of works.
